Finding Nature in the Midst of Modern Life

As our world gets increasingly caught up in the hustle of work and daily life, it’s hard to take time to get outside and connect with nature. Start Your Morning Outside

Sometimes something as simple as a breeze through your home can help you feel more in touch with nature.

Ditch the Headphones

This one can feel the hardest to do because we are so used to constant stimulation. But, instead of filling every quiet moment with music or podcasts, let nature be your daily soundtrack. Next time you go on a walk, leave your headphones at home and listen to the sounds around you. It’s wild how much you’ll start to notice: leaves rustling, distant conversation, or even the sound of your footsteps. You may even open yourself up to conversations with neighbors or moments of reflection that would have been missed otherwise. Bring Plants Into Your Home

If you’re worried about keeping plants alive, start with beginner friendly options like golden pothos, snake plants, or succulents.

Go Barefoot

This one may feel odd if you’ve never done it before, but leave your shoes behind the next time you go outside. Feeling your feet on the earth can create a strong sense of grounding and presence. Time spent barefoot in nature has been linked to reduced stress, lower anxiety, and improved mood. There’s something about feeling the blades of grass on your feet that slows you down and brings you into the moment. Grounding practices have also been associated with better sleep, reduced inflammation, and overall well-being. Just be sure to stick to areas free of hazards like broken glass or hot pavement.
